The Collective Transport System Metro of Mexico City reported that service on Line B was partially suspended due to an incident on the tracks between the Oceanía and Deportivo Oceanía stations. The problem arose from the detection of an obstruction on the tracks, which necessitated stopping train operations for an emergency inspection.
Users reported moments of tension and distress when the affected train began to shake and stopped for 25 minutes in an elevated area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
In response to this situation, a provisional service was implemented on Line B, operating between Buenavista and Oceanía stations, as well as between Villa de Aragón and Ciudad Azteca. Metro authorities have not yet specified the exact causes of the incident but assured that a thorough inspection is being carried out in the area to rule out any structural or mechanical failures that could pose a risk.
In response to the partial service suspension, alternative transport routes were offered in the area, such as Route 23 from Deportivo Oceanía to Ecatepec, Route 37 from Deportivo Oceanía to Central de Abastos, and Route 43 from Deportivo Oceanía to Nezahualcóyotl.
System personnel continue to work in the area to remove any objects that could pose a risk to operations and to ensure the safe resumption of train services. Meanwhile, several passengers shared videos on social media of the moment the train swayed while moving over the elevated section.
